I-40 Narrows in McIntosh County

Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane from two miles west of Tiger Mt. Road to one mile west of Pierce Road, between Henryetta and Checotah in McIntosh County, beginning Sunday night for pavement rehabilitation. The work zone is between mile markers 246 and 254.

Future lane closures on westbound I-40 will be announced later in the project, which continues through spring 2017.

Drivers can expect delays and congestion and should plan extra travel time in this area.

In May, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the more than $13 million contract for this work to Glover and Associates of Muskogee.
