The libraries of Carl Albert State College (CASC) hosted a Pumpkin Carving Contest and named winners from each campus on Friday. The Poteau campus had 26 entries in the contest, and the Sallisaw campus had six entries. The group winner was the CASC Cheerleaders with their "Vike" pumpkin. The first place individual award went to students Sarah Gibbens and Ryan Cunningham with "The Good Guy Doll-Chuckie." The runner up in the individual competition went to student Lauryn Purdy with "Gumball Machine." In Sallisaw the first place group award went to the Sallisaw CASC Business Office/Bookstore-Gina Risley. First place individual went to Heather Buchanan, and second place individual went to Bridget Black. Terri Carroll, Director of CASC Libraries, thanked everyone who helped make the event successful.
