Stilwell Woman Killed in Crash


A 40-year-old Stilwell woman was killed in a vehicle crash at about 3 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 59, one and a half miles south of Westville.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported Stephanie Smith was driving a 2006 Honda Civic north when her vehicle was hit head on. Smith was transported by First Flight to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville where she was pronounced dead due to injuries from collision.

A 6-year-old female juvenile in the vehicle was transported by Air Evac to St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa where she was admitted in stable condition with arm, leg and head injuries. The OHP does not release the names of children in crashes.

The OHP reported Justin Sequichie, 35, of Stilwell was driving a 2001 Acura south on U.S. Highway 59 when he struck Smith’s vehicle. He told the OHP he fell asleep and his vehicle crossed over into the other lane. The OHP reported the crash caused both vehicles to land in the ditch.

Justin Sequichie was transported to Stilwell Hospital where he was treated and released with arm and external trunk injuries.

A passenger in his vehicle, Jackson Sequichie, 35, of Stilwell was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa by Air Evac where he was admitted with arm and trunk internal injuries.
