Lucas’ ‘Iron Post Corner’ to Be Published on Nov. 22

Nov. 22 is the launch day for “Iron Post Corner,” the first fiction book by Clayton Lucas to be published.

“I’m excited!” he said about the publication date.

Lucas is Sallisaw’s city manager. He confessed to writing the book at nights, when he stayed up late watching over sick children. Lucas and wife, Lora, have five children.

Lucas signed a publication contract with Hawaii Way Publishing of Visalia, Calif., in June, and the novel will be available on Amazon, and at Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million. Lucas said plans are for him to do several book signings.

“Iron Post Corner” is about a young couple who spent their childhood together but were then separated. Their reconnection, brought about by his grandfather, is the main focus of the book, along with a family mystery.

The romantic adventure is set in the area where Lucas grew up – the Iron Post, Central, and Akins area east of Sallisaw.

Lucas said the book will also be featured on a reality show in January, but he is not allowed to reveal that show yet.
