The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has issued an Amber Alert for a missing 3 year-old boy they say was taken by his father Tuesday evening. The abduction happened around 8 p.m. at 15719 West Flint Rock Road just off Indian Road south of Tahlequah.
The mother told authorities that she was driving with 3 year-old Kegan Michael Manning and she thought someone was following too closely, so she pulled over. She said three vehicles boxed her in and then Kegan's estranged father, 24 year-old Johnny Michael Manning, got out and banged on her window, threatened her and slashed her tires.
She told investigators that he tried to force her to write out a custody agreement, but she refused. She said Johnny Manning took the boy at knifepoint and told her she would never see him again if she notified authorities.
The three vehicles are described as a white 2000 model Pontiac, a blue Chevy Blazer model year between 1985 to1990 and a red two-door car. Investigators believe Manning is in the white Pontiac.
The sheriff's office says Kegan is wearing a gray Tasmanian Devil shirt and blue pants with an orange stripe. Kegan is described as a white male, 3 feet tall, weighing 40 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair.
The detective in charge of the case said they pinged Johnny Manning's cell phone Tuesday shortly after 11 p.m. and that he was in Tulsa at the time. Authorities say Johnny Manning's parents live in the Tulsa area and they are trying to make contact with them.
If you see Kegan Manning or know anything about his whereabouts, call 911.
