The Old Sallisaw High School Association is busy cleaning up after a thunderstorm Friday damaged the Event Center.
Crystal Hardy, secretary-treasurer of the association, said Monday that the building was flooded and volunteers and group members teamed up to clean up all the water, move furniture and remove ruined carpeting. She offered her heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who showed up to help with the cleanup, which only took about an hour, Hardy said.
Hardy says her most pressing concern is that the building wasn’t insured. The association leases the site from the school, she said, and she is hoping the school will be able to help with mold abatement costs if necessary.
