Warrant Issued for Muldrow Woman

A felony arrest warrant has been issued for a 43-year-old Muldrow woman for eight counts of forgery in the second degree, according to court records.

According to the report filed with the affidavit for an arrest warrant, a Sequoyah County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to WW Grocery north of  Muldrow on April 30. The store owner, Melissa Morgan, reported receiving "numerous" forged checks from Stephanie Anderson.

Morgan stated that Anderson had cashed eight checks on April 19 and 20. Morgan was later contacted by the bank and informed that Anderson was not a payee on the account and that she had forged the checks adding the line that made her a payee.

An arrest warrant was issued for Anderson on May 20, and his bond was set at $7,500.

Each felony count is punishable by confinement for not more than one year and by a fine not exceeding $1,000.
