Julie Ann Ward, 57, and her husband, Robert Carl Ward Sr., 62, of Vian both entered not guilty pleas to a charge of knowingly concealing stolen property.
Julie Ward is CEO at Northeastern Health System Sequoyah, the hospital in Sallisaw. The hospital board of directors has removed Ward from all hospital financial responsibilities and those have been turned over to the hospital’s chief financial officer.
The charges, filed against the couple on March 16 in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw, are in regard to a Kubota tractor stolen from a Muskogee County home on Feb. 19 and found at the Ward home in the Evening Shade area.
According to the report of the investigating deputy, Julie Ward said the Wards had purchased the tractor “three to four years ago,” but Robert Ward, interviewed at a different time, said he had just purchased the tractor with a $2,000 down payment.
Julie Ward surrendered to the court on March 28 and entered her not guilty plea. Robert Ward entered his not guilty plea on March 21 in district court.
Julie Ward’s next court appearance will be on a disposition docket at 9 a.m. April 18. Robert Ward’s next court appearance is at 9 a.m. on the June 6 disposition docket.
Both are free on $1,000 bonds each.
