Sallisaw Man Arrested After Injury Collision

Isbell, David

A 69-year-old Sallisaw man is hospitalized in a Tulsa hospital after he was thrown from his Moped in a two-vehicle crash Thursday.

Jerry Ball is listed in stable condition with head injuries, reported Sallisaw police.

Police report Ball was riding his Moped west on Creek Street in Sallisaw when he signaled he was turning left on to Oak Street. David Isbell, 38, was driving a four-door Infinity sedan and was following Ball when his car struck the Moped from behind. The impact threw Ball from his Moped, and, although he was wearing a helmet, he received head and other injuries. Ball was transported to the hospital in Sallisaw then transferred to the Tulsa hospital.

Isbell was arrested for driving under the influence-narcotics, other traffic violations, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, methamphetamine, failure to pay attention to the roadway, and child endangerment because there was a child in his vehicle.

The crash occurred at about 8:20 a.m. Thursday.

Assisting at the scene were Sallisaw Fire Department first responders, members of the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s office, and Pafford EMS.
